With over 25 years of designing National Commercials, Independent Films, Episodic TV, Print Campaigns, and Music Videos, David has worked all over the US, Canada, Mexico, and Japan. Sicotte believes that creating characters and the worlds in which they live is always an opportunity to reimagine the norm, breakthrough stereotypes, and weed out the typical, while riding the line of what’s cool and what sells the scene. He brings his love of visual poetry and storytelling to every production. This is what keeps his ideas moving forward with limitless discovery. Son of an American GI and South Korean mother, he grew up as the oldest son of three siblings. In a bi-racial household, he learned to bridge the two cultures blending the grace and discipline of Korean culture with the grit and grind of growing up in America. David grew up studying classical piano and transitioned to guitar and vocals once reaching his late teens. As a frontman and singer songwriter in bands throughout his adult years, Sicotte has found many parallels between the creation of music and film and thrives on the dynamics of color, texture, and scale. Aside from Film and Music, David has an affinity for the culinary arts, riding motorcycles, and collecting all things that tell a story, albeit a vintage guitar or a forged Damascus blade. Sicotte has honed his visual and auditory story telling talent by using artful grit, grace, and realism to help draw out the truth of each set, whilst staying on budget and most importantly on brand.
